Exotic Sugar Flowers

First post for the new year - 2015. There is much happening around us, lets hope for peace all over the world. I have made a few resolutions to myself and am working on them. However, 2014 ended with a short vacation,fun time with folks and luck by chance I got myself enrolled for a 3 day EXOTIC SUGAR FLOWERS WORKSHOP. And then I learnt to make all of these.....and can't stop feeling proud every time I look at it.

Chocolate Chiffon Cake

I made this cake a month ago - did not post it here. Love it so so much that I kept it for the 100th follower of A Portion to Share. And this goes out to Anita of Recipe with pictures......an interesting space filled with tested and tried recipes.

This is a very light and spongy cake from Joy of Baking............. so well described in the video and the post as well. I'm not repeating the recipe here ,because I have followed the JOB recipe word to word. Great cake...must try !

Neapolitan Christmas Cake

This is a very delayed post, part of the Baking Partners challenge for December. Been busy and travel schedules popped up though I managed to complete it ahead of time. 

Choco- Almond Cake

Am happy to be back with a Choco - Almond cake. Summer holidays and the kids got nothing much to do..........that's when they wanted a frosted cake. I haven't been baking in a while and I guess they were missing it. The idea to include Maltesers on the cake came from them......and this is the outcome.....

Coffee Cake...

Friday the weekend came with just one plan - lunch with my friend Sheena...........she was hosting a lunch to celebrate her hubby's birthday ( 11th May). I offered to bring the cake. So, here it is....

It had been hectic week - lots of things happening and so I baked this simple coffee cake  and managed to do this in a short span of time....which included the swiss meringue butter cream..........

Happy birthday Dr.Sagar - it was  a pleasant lunch at your home...........!thank you for being there for us :)

Doll Cake

Some days happen just once in our lifetime and it stays.Feb 3rd 2003 I had my baby girl.She jumped out  23 days earlier than scheduled and surprised us all.The thrill was having a girl baby after my son......She turned 9 two days ago.....time surely flies:)

I got down to peep into my pantry and found that it required some clean up.Stacking and storing bothers me so much that I do this often so that nothing piles up. The outcome of the exercise were some decorated cupcakes  like these......................

Club Penguin Cake

CLUB PENGUIN is a very popular role playing online game, a big hit with kids. It annoys me to see them play but at times I let go as it is also a phase that they have to outgrow on their own.Hence the theme  for my son's birthday cake...........

ARIEL - THE LITTLE MERMAID

Ariel - The Little Mermaid is my daughters favorite princess besides the other Disney Princesses. I made this cake for her 8th birthday in Feb ...... These are the pictures.

It was an effort to do the details on this Pineapple - Vanilla Ribbon cake. I guess i did justice.:))

This week Aditi's friend Varsha celebrated her birthday. I was asked to do the cake......and once again after much thought settled down for Ariel again...................which we sent to her as a Birthday gift. It was a Coffee cake with Vanilla butter cream , covered with home made fondant........& used the same for the details as well..........Kids are back from the party ............am sitting with a smile.............wow!! sometimes or always  - compliments do have a glowing effect :)) these are the pictures.
